03 / MENTORING

Build useful habits

Break homework into manageable steps and practice asking questions, planning and working independently.

A thoughtful beginning

Start with the learner,
then make a plan.

Arlene lives in New Jersey and would like to support children and teens through English tutoring and mentoring.

Sessions will focus on general learning support. Specialized instruction and needs outside her skills should be referred to a qualified professional.

A proposed first month

First, listen. A parent conversation about goals and the kind of help the student needs.

Then, practice. Reading and writing activities with one clear goal at a time.

Keep in touch. A brief parent recap and a check on what is helping.

Proposed initial focus: grades 3–10. Final age range and online or in-person arrangements are to be confirmed.

Try a small learning moment

Every story starts somewhere.

“Maya tucked her notebook into her bag before the rain began. At the bus stop, she wrote down an idea for a story.”

An example activity only. Your answer stays in this page and is not sent or saved.

Simple starting point

Individual attention.

$25 / 45 minutes

Proposed introductory rate, subject to English With Arlene approval. A free 15-minute parent conversation is suggested before starting.

No grade guarantees. No long-term package needed for the proposed pilot.

For parents & guardians

Let’s begin with a conversation.

This website is not accepting inquiries or bookings yet. Once English With Arlene contact details and schedule are confirmed, parents will be able to ask about a first session.

What should we discuss before starting?

The student’s grade, reading and writing goals, preferred session format and available times. A parent or guardian arranges and consents to sessions.

Is this a school or childcare service?

The proposed service is supplemental tutoring and academic encouragement. It is not a school, childcare service, counseling service or specialist assessment.

How will families stay involved?

Parent-managed communication, agreed session arrangements and short progress updates are part of the proposed approach. Final policies will be agreed before enrollment.

Where will sessions take place?

Online or an approved New Jersey location, to be confirmed. Service area, venue permission and availability must be settled before booking opens.

English practice examples remain in English. Spanish is for website information; session language must be confirmed with Arlene.
